I'm so excited ! ! ! It's significantly cooler and more meaningful than I anticipated. It will be a fun challenge to build on top of the lives that have been lived in this house. AND, since this family has such a history established in politics, we are charged to make more of a comment on the current political situation, the way that politics and family interact. This idea is related to what I was writing on last week.
Patrick (the man who lives in the house) was really flexible about our plans. It should be a little bit easier to communicate with him from here on out, since we've had a chance to discuss everything in person. We are now on track with our plans from the beginning of the year! Yay! We wanted to get into the house by January and now, we definitely will! It's time to focus on the scale model, so we can complete it for the December reviews. We are asking for advice and help from architecture majors, people who work with 3D modeling, and the city planners! It's all getting so real! I think Thanksgiving break should be extra thought provoking with regard to our thesis. I'm starting to feel like we are onto something with this overlap between family, power, and personal opinion!
